Discharge on turquoise tees
« on: July 31, 2014, 06:45:44 AM »
Got this job coming up, all turquoise cotton tees and we would love to use discharge inks, white and red, left breast. Now I`m wondering if turquoise likes to be discharged or is it one of those party pooper colors that gives you a crap discharge result. I tried to figure it out via the Gildan discharge chart but there is nothing that looks really like  proper turquoise. The shirts we are using are not Gildans anyway but I was hoping I could get an idea by checking their discharge ratings. Anyone ever successfully discharged turquoise tees? I`m all ears.

Did some Next Level turquoise a couple weeks ago, testing the activated clear base discharged to a unimpressive gray so we went to white and they looked nice.  I would be hesitant that the red would not look very good on the particular shirt we used, but i did not test colors as I just needed the white.

I've never had satisfactory results discharging turquoise. Consider test printing and getting customer approval.

It is the red shade blue dyestuff that adversely combats the dischargeability. Some turqs use it others do not. Can't be more specific, sorry.

Ok did some test prints and it came out almost perfect. I guess it really depends on the garment manufacturer and how they dye the tees.
