M&R Heatwave Dryer
« on: December 14, 2013, 12:02:14 PM »
I wonder if there is anyone around here who could answer a few questions?  ;D

What are the main differences between the Heatwave and Sprint dryers?

Any significant changes in the heatwave dryers in the last 5 years?

How loud are they?

the Sprint series of dryers are heavy duty dryers that start at 900 pieces per hour and go all the way up to 4800 pieces per hour. The Heatwave is rated at 600 pieces per hour. High volume water or discharge printing should be done on Sprints. Low volume water, discharge should work fine on the Heatwave.. The exhaust blower and main blower were made to be easier matain end on the newer Heatwave. Uf going a long distance with the exhaust on the Heatwave a helper blower may be required. Both dryers run very quite and skin temperature is cool to the touch.

Sounds about perfect for me. Any issues to look for on a used 2009 unit, besides checking the serial number with you guys?

Mine is a 2008 heatwave. First its a great small gas dryer. The 2 issues I have are: the bearings are very temperamental. is if you are not diligent on greasing them, they crap out and are loud. I'm talking like more than the weekly greasing it needs. If you go 2 weeks, your out of luck(could be isolated incidence in my case as I have not heard anyone else having this issue). That has been the one problem I have had other fixing flame rod. The other issue I have is what I assume is the temperature rod inside the chamber sticks out to far and too low to the belt. I've had enough pieces catch on it and get ruined that it annoys me. That being said its a good dryer, especially for the price
