Easy money just got harder

Have 5K backpacks showing up today...supposed to get a 1-color imprint.  Last minute the customer calls and wants their logo in full color.  They shoot the logo over and it's 6 colors .  Money's right, but damn it would be nice to just have a regular old 1-color job come through here once in awhile.

One color jobs?  HA, not around here.  Then the complaints on price for an 8 color job on 36 pieces.  "but I don't understand why it's so expensive".  Last week we did a 7 color...on pockets...on darks...30 pieces, and probably broke even.

Yea, I would much rather print a 1 color job over a more spendy many-color job any day. For us manual printers, at least, multi-color jobs can really affect the production rate. Plus I get bored seeing the same shirt 6 times!

You'll get bored watching them on an auto too....you just get bored faster...

I get bored easily as well. On the other hand, when I printed signs and other flat stock, one color at a time with drying in-between, it was a real rush adding each subsequent color, and watching the whole design slowly fill out.

Similar to adding the black plate on many shirt designs, it suddenly all pulls together. T-shirts give much more instant visual gratification.

outta curiosity, how do you hold a backpack on the auto? nails?

after loading we would put a small like 2 lb. weight inside ..it works
