What do you use for printing on or around seams?
« on: September 11, 2013, 05:08:54 PM »
ok..so I bought the Stahls Hotronix 16 x 16 and the counter caddy..will arrive Monday.

The job that started all of this, the design falls into the v neck area of the girls shirt. Can I cut up a mousepad to keep the foil area elevated and the v neck seam flush with actual platen? I do not want to press on the seam itself thinking it will screw up the foil on some level.

have you modified something for these kinds of things or do you just press the seam also?

I know you can buy pillows and special print pads but I already dropped enough today and for right now I just need a quick solution for printing around a seamed area.

I was thinking of taking a mousepad and cutting a "V" in it...lay it on the platen then lay the shirt to where the v neck falls in the "V" i cut.

any ideas would be helpful?

I've used mousepads and other foams. (I've even used cardboard)
Just make sure that they don't start acting up at the 300-390 temps you may be using for different heat seal materials.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?
