Holy CRAP! Did anybody else catch the film special Nazdar is offering?

Not personally using Nazdar, so I can't specifically comment on Nazdar quality.  But what is it with the notion around here that if it costs less it means it isn't as good.

That's ridiculous if some of you assume that.  It could certainly be true, but doesn't automatically mean so.

Their regular price is around $73, which is pretty much in line with the industry. This $50 price must be a loss leader. A friend just tried to buy 200 rolls and it showed not in stock.

Brad:  Unfortunately most screen-print industry suppliers are finding that  inkjet screen-positive film has become an extreme commodity product. Nazdar SourceOne’s regular price of $73.00 for a 17” x 100’ roll of our ImageStar inkjet screen positive film had become non-competitive in the current market conditions causing us to look at ways to reduce our selling price. 

Nazdar SourceOne met with our US based Manufacturer/Supplier (not Microjet) and made commitments to purchase the IMS film in greater quantities to reduce our cost so we could deliver a lower price to our customers. In order to promote this new price positioning we are offering promotional pricing of $50.00 per roll of 17” x 100’ ImageStar film for the month of March that will revert to a regular price of right around $60.00 per roll after the promotion is over.   

On another issue I’m not  sure who told your friend that tried to buy 200 rolls of film that Nazdar SourceOne was out of stock.  Please have your friend contact me directly either with a PM though my profile at www.TheShirtBoard.com, or they can email me at pwalsh@nazdar.com and I will get them taken care of.  (Not that it matters but can you confirm if your friend is a screen-printer or a film reseller?)

I saw the sale price and e-mail flyer.  I forget what the cost on a 44" x 100 roll was (all we use) but I think it was about the same on sale as what we normally pay (we use a lot of film though and will typically go through 2-3 rolls of 44" film in a week).  We do negotiate for this pricing though and use a lot of film.  As for the quality of the film - I am currently working through linearization and some front end tweaks - so we shall see.
