"He who marches out of step hears another drum." ~ Ken Kesey
What little I knew about photoshop has been forgotten, due to lack of use. This week I took a five color job that came in as a Jpeg (mostly text). Normally I'd use Vector Magic to convert to EPS and print it as a spot color. The text in this job didn't trace well.. so I decided to separate it in photoshop. I have some photoshop training DVD's produced and sold by Scot Fresener.. so it was time for a refresher course.Using Scott's training I was able to build 5 channels and convert the image to spot colors in a couple hours. To put it in perspective, I hardly remembered the difference between a layer and a channel.. these training DVD's are geared for guys like me.Now... this won't mean much to the Photoshop skilled out there... but for the poorly trained (like me) .psd can really be intimidating.Say what you will about US Screen... but they did have some good products.
I am a bigger fan of Tom at advanced artist.Training geared toward this industry is getting better and better, it's nice to see it's helping folks out.
the advanced artist is for corral, whats for adobe PS and Illy?
...hey Northland, is this the set you have?http://www.t-biznetwork.com/store/products/T%252dShirt-Graphics-with-Adobe-Photoshop-featuring-Scott-Fresener.html...Im getting pretty good at Corel, and can move around a lil bit in PhotoPaint, but I know less than squat about PS (or Illy for that matter), and I think I really need to learn to at least use the basic functions. From what I read here, this might fit the bill, and 80 bones isnt gonna break the bank. I would like to at least get some peer-based feedback on it before I drop the coin....anyone familiar with this? I would love to hear about.

I think most of the info is still valid.
