White discharge on black Gildan tee

Tried some white CCI discharge with 6% activator on black Gildan tees. I thought the print would come out brilliant white but actually it`s rather off white. Not as bad as on shirts I tried from a local supplier.
Mesh used was a 205. Are my expectations too high or should the outcome really be bright white. Will reducing the amount of activator make any difference?

not sure about CCI white, but on 205 did you do one hit? try it on a 150. Gildans are usually pretty good.

yeah, like pat said, i'd go lower. We usually use 156, and it comes out usually pretty great.

Was it white pigment or just straight discharge?

CCI white discharge straight from the pot + 6% activator.

What does the inside of the shirt look like? What does it smell like?

CCI white discharge is white. Not plastic shiny white like plastisol, but definitely white.
Occasionally you will see a twinge of a tan hue though.

That`s what I`m talking about, the "twinge of a tan hue".
The inside looks pretty much black with some white areas.

If you run it too hot through the dryer it will turn a bone color as well from the heat.

Throw some base and water in there for better sturation. I don't have much experience wih CCI but I would imagine white str8 out of the container is pretty heavy and will get chaulky fairly quick. I would try the 150 (not saying you cannot run a 205, but just to take deposit out of the equation) ad some water maybe a lil base and rock out. Also what kind of dryer and settings on it are u using?
