Printer resolution
« on: June 06, 2011, 02:41:58 PM »
Just wondering what everyone is running for their printers when outputting films. I am talking about the dpi settings in the printer not the dpi of the file. Thanks

running an EPSON 3000 at 720. The 1400 at the same unless higher needed for competition or something like it . . .

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

I've been doing 1440. Maybe I should adjust down to 720.

Me too. I think I will spit a few out at 720 to see what they look like.

On my HP9800 I always select the "maximum dpi" setting (they don't say what it is). Prints slower, but usually looks a little better.
