Meet Shipwreck Dog
« on: October 25, 2012, 02:00:34 PM »
The Dog series in our line are some of the most popular and we have dozens of them (namedrops on front). The reason I'm posting this is that the colors are printed in discharge the black is fashion black plastisol. The black film is spread, usually by 1.5 points and if the print is off register the black covers it up beautifully. Registration/set up time under 15 minutes and press runs at zero dwell no flash.
So is discharge cheaper? Is for me.

why discharge on this. Sand color shirts can be easily printed.

You are correct on that observation, however keep in mind this is not a stand alone print but but of a large series of an even larger pre-print line. The graphic is offered on or about 14 different garments and/or colors. Part of the appeal is the combination of rich
tone and soft hand. You can buy this on chilli red, china blue, etc and the colors remain true across the board

This discharge thing keeps eating at me to give it another go. We did try it years ago, but the smell just bothered too many people. That was with the Pavonine line that Union (I think) used to push. Nice results, and we liked a white discharge underbase with plastisol on top. Is there a particular brand you like that seems easiest to work with, and most consistent?

I made a mistake once; I thought I was wrong about something; I wasn't

Discharge saves us a lot of time as well not to mention better hand, better prints in my opinion.

Same here, we will devote more time during this coming winter season to discharge. Going to get some CCI discharge kit and some Sericol discharge next week. Might make a discharge chart for our most popular tees.
