Last days of Summer...
« on: September 26, 2012, 01:02:06 AM »
Hey y'all,
Absolutely nothing to do with screen printing on this post. Just the last days of summer are here and my lab Patty and I squeezed in many miles this past weekend. Hopefully if the weather holds we will go again this weekend. High elevation and the temp drops down to around 35 in the evening and not really sure how cold at night as we are wrapped up asleep by then. But it's gonna start snowing soon and my girl is getting too old for that as she is 10. But we hit some old service roads all the time high up in the Cascades near Blanca Lake and there is no one around for hours. Just us and bears. We found a little stream in the picture with a small beach that is not even on the maps! Awesomeness

Very nice. I always say living as close to the beach as I do is living in paradise but it looks like you are there too. Although we do not get a real winter. It is cold to us but I think it gets below 50 less than 10 times a year and it is back up to 70 by 10:00 in the morning.
Enjoy.
When you dig grave will you make it shallow so that I can feel the rain?

Man that water is beautiful.

Down here... we don't really have that. :(

This is as close to "blue" water as you are going to get here:

FYI, that's a restocking effort to the Pearl River... those are fish they are pumping in, not some sort of waste though that is what it looks like.  Notice though, they are dumping "new" fish into that nice lovely brown water... so this is what they consider "GOOD" water. :(

Here are a few more from this past weekend. We did several miles northwest from where we were last weekend. Found a brand new waterfall / swimming spot for next summer! You can't tell from the photo but that waterfall area is about 5 feet deep in some spots so perfect for lounging and drinking beer. But remember it is ice cold glacier water and summer here is like in the 70's at that altitude if your lucky so you gotta be really hot to jump in! But I really can't wait to be back in either Louisiana or South Carolina swamps one of these days. How did I wind up in Seattle 12 years ago?!?!?!

Looks refreshing especially from here in Charleston........90 degrees and so humid it might as well be raining. Fam is in Portland Oregon and Portland Maine so I have that but I wouldn't trade this for the world and I lived in the Caribe. BTW more good looking girls per square inch than anywhere I've been.
Hope to get to Hood River next Spring.

Tony did someone way back in the family say "I'm going to Portland" and didn't specify which... so some went one way and some went the other way? ;)

It's true. Growing up in Charleston I would practically snap my neck everyday looking at all the college girls. Hell, at COC I even took the only yoga class because I was the only dude in a room of about 45 hot girls. Yes, it paid off. And I became more healthy as a side benefit!

Hood River? Didn't you say that two Springs ago?  ;)

Boothbay Harbor? It's like I am following you. I was over in Vermont not too long ago! One of these days I will get the chance to buy you a beer
