changing colors in Photoshop
« on: July 02, 2012, 12:41:12 PM »
Hey guys I know I,ve did this before, but now I draw a blank I need to change this house to a lime green on a purple back ground for a customer to look at.  Noemally I just send them a grayscale and tell them what color will be printed this customer want to see what it looks like on the purple.

Use a selection tool to select what you want colored and then create a new layer and fill it with the color that you want, then set the blending option on the layer.  Then do the same for the other color.

That's how I would do it.

Not close to a PS expert, but I just did this on a crappy piece of art. With either the wand or color range, select, and change the fill color. If using a tint, first change the fill to white

Grayscale makes the selection a lot tougher through!

I rarely mess with layers simply because I have little to no experience with them, and only output as channels.

Grey scale can actually make recoloring something easier.

I removed all the color from a motorcycle that I wanted to experiment with color schemes for this reason.  I wanted to paint my own lines on it and not use their scheme.  Made it all flat grey and the same shade then I was able to draw my own selections and paint those.

Black and red one was the original.

BTW, aauusa, that looks wicked creepy!

Yep that it, but only thing is there won't be any black just the crappy lime green on purple talk about a mess, but that is what they want.
