Need more 100% poly advice
« on: June 03, 2012, 04:22:37 PM »
So I have another order. Navy Dri-Fits with a white and silver metallic print. The customer brought in a sample from a printer that went out of business and I was impressed with the print. It is thin and soft and the metallic is really nice although the pic doesnt really show it. So how do I get the metallic to look good? I heard shimmers are easier to print with, should I do that?

Shimmers are nice to work with, but what did they use last time?
Do you have swatches from Union or Wilflex that may help you determine what you're looking at?
Real metallics have a distinctly different look than the plastic shimmers when examined.

Either way, it's probably over a Poly UB, and as you learned, Poly can give you a very smooth print.

edited for a bunch of rushed spelling errors lol!

They have no idea how it was done last time. I think I'm gonna pick up some shimmer and see how it prints as I already have metallic. I think as long as the color is close they will be ok with it.
