For those of you using one of these platforms how do you deal with the inevitable "My kids shirt is too small" issue? We have it stated all over that there are no returns or exchanges as these items are custom printed. We just started doing this last year. It has been great but We are still having some growing pains...

When you dig grave will you make it shallow so that I can feel the rain?

In ours, we always include the garment size and specs link in the description.
This is so that we can avoid someone saying “we didn’t know”. Like the legal system. Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
So if you provide them easy access to determine the best size themselves, they can’t putt he blame back on you.


The thing is, every Mom knows that they need to look at the shirt (in the store) on their kid when purchasing most garments since sizes can be different for different brands and garment content.
When ordering from a fund raiser, they don’t ge this type of control. So then they complain. It is what it is. So you jsut have to set things up in advance to give them every opportunity to review the shirt make up before they purchase.
(WASH IN COLD WATER).   You can out that on all of your orders.


Before they get their tee, (On our end, a lot of customers and print shops don’t recognize (never checked) the fact that when the item goes through our dryer, the garment shrinks. Depending on the make up of that garment, it can shrink as much as one complete size.  Sizing is based on pre-print production from the factory.  After we decorate it, it shrinks a little. Then, after the buyer gets it, and washed it once, it may come back a gain. There is always a little flex with a garment due to environment. Notice how snug your jeans are when you get them out of the dryer and put them on right away....and then they loosen up later?  Same thing. We all kind of know this already, but parents can get picky.


So we are a part of that problem, but it’s one that we can’t change due to the process. We can only make them aware of what we have to offer.


Case in point in Pic. Bella Canvas Tri-Blend.   I was aware that it was going to do this to some degree, but this is a good bit. But it’s a problem for the customer outside of our shop be cause ALL shirts shrink at least a little.  This one was more so.

The one thing that I do is put the item's specific size chart in the images part of the item. I don't use the generic size chart that comes with the item thru OMG.

Because these products are one of a kind items created especially for our customers, we do not accept returns for products that are produced as ordered.

Please make sure the items you have ordered are the correct size.

Any items within your order that can not be fulfilled will be refunded.


You will always get the people that don't take the time to read anything. :'(

I have had calls saying that "my kids shirt is too small", and I tell them I can redo the order if they are willing to pay for all the setups and other costs incurred with re-doing their one pce.
No takers on that yet.   They all wait til the next time the store is open and order the "proper size"

It all comes down to this: It's not whether you're right or wrong, it's where you place the blame......    ::)

curious what brand are the shirts?
I avoid Hanes, Fruit of the Loom and other brands sticking to Gildan, Jerzees or Port Authority exclusively...why Hanes for example I wear a large  but my Hanes tagless tee fits like a medium tooooo tight. The 3 mentioned brands fit me just fine and that is what I stike with or ALWAYS tell my customers on alternate brands  run a bunch on the small side.

It depends on how they approach me, honestly. If they are demanding and condescending, talking smack about my garments, then I tell them we can not assist, there was a size chart listed in several places you were told to refer to. It also says at checkout to confirm your sizes, we are not responsible if you order the wrong size. -BUT-  If they appear grateful, "I completely understand if you can't make one" and are nice about it, then we do it. DTF has come in handy for this. Comes with the territory I guess. We also charge more for store items so it's not really that lbig of a deal anymore. I try to put myself in the parents shoes and what would I do. I'd be a bit miffed if I ordered a hoodie and it doesn't fit so we try to be understanding.
