Our MHM S-Type is over 20 years old, and just keeps running. No major down time, but you might want to have some spare parts on hand (if buying used) as sometimes it can 2 weeks or more for parts. It's a great press, it really is.

I think if you had everything dialed in, pins with CTS and the press can really zero out properly, it's probably the best for easy registration in theory.

Where I worked previously many years ago, we had an MHM and while they all push ink through a screen, loading ink and doing color changes with those bars around the screen was a nightmare to me.  Maybe it's something you would get used to, but the access to the screen was a PITA, and I doubt on that older press if you popped a screen out to access easier and put it right back in that it would be in registration still.  However old pins, no maintenance, bad screens.

Also you are only as good as your support, and if parts still have to be shipped in from Europe fixes can be more expensive and take longer, so I'd make sure support over the last 9 years since my last experience has really gotten better.

I think the MHM are probably the best in theory, but loading and doing ink changes in those bad boys sucks, maybe if you are taller not as bad of an issue.  Does ROQ offer a pin screen option?  I seem to remember they used to?

We had a ROQ pin system and it sucked, real bad. They don't offer it anymore.

This pandemic has caused delays in getting parts etc from Europe but none of the minor issues we have had has caused any downtime. SPSI has been excellent when it comes to support. They stock a lot of parts and have gone the extra mile to get us anything we've needed in a timely manner.
Delays in service is effecting all manufactures. We are having some issues with our 2 year old Sprint 3000 dryer and the tech can't come out until the end of February.

We have 2 - X types and an S type with a Exile Spyder DTS.

Pretty awesome combo.

Registration is very easy with the spyder/mhm pin combo. Exile is the company that brands their Spyder with the MHM Logo if you have seen a "MHM" DTS.

I would say the biggest difference between the S and X is you can fit a 36" frame in the S.

Our White squeegees hardly ever leave the press. you can just pop the screen and squeegee up and go on until a job requires white again.

The pallet change system makes printing sleeves and pockets extremely easy.

Combine this with the Douthitt system that SPSI will package and install all at once.  Douthitt CTS is best value for any press and we have special mhm package.  Mark 313 515 8635

Thanks Pierre. I've spoke with Brian a bunch over at Roq and he's been great. I do really love those presses and will deeply consider all the options. As I'm sure I've said before, I'm a small 1.5 man operation. Soon to be a 2 person team. Trying to keep it as small as I can and produce as much as possible with a skeleton crew.
Our M&R is going to be picked up mid March by another shop, then end of March comes our new ROQ Next 10/14, 2 Evo flashes , Roq Iron etc.  2/3 of it financed through a government grant. Free instal etc, hefty discount.
MHM approached us too but never replied after we mentioned the deal we got. Found that very rude of them. At Elsass say that you cannot match the price and wish all the best. That’s what M&R did after we got a quote for the Cobra press which matched the ROQ estimate. But the experience we had with our Diamondback was just too bad.

Jakprints here in Cleveland is looking for a ROQ to set up the hybrid they have. They would like to trade an MHM for a ROQ that is compatible with it.
If anybody is interested let me know and I'll get you in touch.

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

they just put the listing up of presses for sale. bunch of 4000's, ovals and S-type. Shoot me a PM if you are interested. Or reach out to LT directly in the sales post, he can sort it out.
