Motor for National Dryer
« on: May 06, 2019, 01:59:39 PM »
I have an old National Dryer (N4819G) the belt motor is going out. Anyone have a motor or know where to get one at a reasonable price.

I got one at Grainger once up on a time. You can probably get the numbers off your motor and google it and find one.

Exactly what rmonks said.  Grainger...has it all

But.....for a cheaper experience for most of the same items Grainger has and free shipping over $50, I buy from Zoro.com   Often there are coupon codes for 20% off, etc.

I used a National 2408 for several years...

Our Grainger down the street doesn't stock anything anymore it seems.  We use McMaster and wait a day.  Or it's about a 45 minute drive from me if I am in a bind.

If it is a DC motor (most belt motors are)..... it might be worth your while to try removing & then re-install the carbon brushes (to free them up).
As carbon brushes wear they shed carbon powder that can cause the brush to hang up -or- squeek.
