EPSON 7900 heads (used in M&R i-Image)
« on: February 26, 2018, 10:22:22 AM »
just replaced my head, bought a used one with a defective yellow channel for $50! We are back up and running and saved $1500+ vs buying a new one direct from EPSON. I have a line on another head somebody is looking to get rid of. This one is supposedly new, not really sure about the price either. In any case, I should have few usable used heads coming in. If anybody is interested in having a backup please let me know. My cost should be $50 plus shipping. Not looking to mark them up, just cover my expenses. 'doing this to help others out. . .

The head I received was a year old and has been sitting all this time in a cardboard box. I soaked it in the cleaner for a bit and then used the syringe to flush it. 8 out of 10 channels opened up and everything works great. It is important to do an ink charge after the head is replaced. I can probably soak and flush any head that comes my way before shipping it out.

anybody interested let me know.

We should also keep this thread up and running with the best practices for i-Image head issues.

I'll take one if you can find another.  I replaced the head last year I think, or 2016.  It's been going strong on all channels since.

Thanks!!!

It would be nice to create a Rocket Launcher thread.  I just replaced the capping station.  That makes the head replacement look like a walk in the park.

I could be wrong, but I don't think this model that uses Epson heads would be called an I-Image. Not sure of the original name, but it's been called the rocket launcher because of it's slant.

Mine has been running 5 years strong with a few replacements and although I've wanted to take a sledge hammer to it a few times, it's worth a million bucks to me. :D

It's the I-image CTS.  The upright model, which was M&R's first was called the I-screen.  I don't know if any of those still exist, but I would imagine they do.
