Having issues with underbasing

So I have been having some washout issues on a job when doing multi-color with an underbase. I feel like I am doing all the right things.

4 color
White Underbase 230 Mesh
Yellow 156
Red 156
Highlight White 156

2 strokes White UB, Flash 6-7 sec (dry to the touch / maybe a bit of tack, the cooling station then WOW rest of colors (Yellow, then Red). Hitting the other 2 colors twice. Maybe too low of a mesh? Should I have done 230 across the board to not lay down so much ink?

• Added in some Slipstream Silicone to help with sticking. Also Retarder in the White.

They were for a friend so I am going to get them back and do some wash tests, then run them through the dryer again and try another wash test to rule out undercuring first. Maybe I didnt slow down the dryer enough.

You don't say how much time the shirts spent in the tunnel.. With that dryer, you'll probably need to run the shirts through multiple times to accumulate the required amount of cure time. I don't recall the specs for GG, but IIRC it's between 2 and 3 minutes..

90 sec at 320-350 is the recommended since I have forced air. But I could see that needing to be more with the extra ink layers.

Yeah, I often wondered how they arrived at those numbers -- is that for a 1 color print or a 12 color print? That certainly has to be a factor. My experience has been, the time is more important than the temperature. For example, we run charcoal shirts at a lower temp, and the wash tests are still fine -- the constant is that we always try to hit ~3 minutes in the dryer (I print mostly Virus, but sometimes GG black with virus colors)

Just looked up the specs for GG:

Printed fabric should be cured for a minimum of 90 seconds at 360°F. Ideally, printed fabric should be cured for three minutes at 300-320°F.

Yeah. I will slow the belt down from here on out to let them cook a bit more. Going to grab these tomorrow and run them back through in hope that will help them set. Thanks for jumping in on this for me!

I should also add that this job was on a Canvas TriBlend, Navy.

Is the top colors coming of the base. if so to long on flash. If not then more time in dryer.

Coming off? Well, it is fading, not peeling off. I am only flashing 6-7 seconds tops. Any less and I might as well not flash I would think. Getting the order back today to try and pop in the dryer again.

Yea try more cure time. if has been washed garment might become brittle if softener was used. Just fyi.
