In March 2017, Ryonet, working in cooperation with the GO Exchange (GOEX) and 10 founding partners, organized an Indiegogo fund-raising campaign to benefit The Global Orphan Project, (GO Project) a Kansas City-based, global community committed to caring for children and families in crisis from Kansas City to Kampala.

Funds raised for the project, known as Allmade (www.allmade.com), are to be used to manufacture eco-friendly T-shirts, made for a living wage, benefiting orphan care and prevention in Haiti. The campaign exceeded its goal as of April 2017.

In late August of this year, a special behind-the-scenes trip has been planned to the American South and Haiti, where participants will meet the people, tour the facilities, and experience the positive energy behind Allmade shirts.

The trip will include Allmade founders, partners, Early Adopters, and Indiegogo backers as well as any other interested parties. It will begin in the cotton fields of North Carolina, where visitors will see used plastic bottles transformed into polyester fibers at the Repreve factory. They also will meet representatives of Carolina Cotton Works, who will demonstrate how those fibers are spun into yarn, knitted into fabric, and packaged for shipping to Haiti.

Then the trip continues to Haiti, gathering in Port Au Prince before connecting with the Global Orphan Project and its facility. Over the next couple days there will be a tour of some of the orphanages supported by the GO Project, as well as the Life SA factory where fabric is sewn into Allmade shirts. Members will share lunch with factory workers and enjoy hearing their stories.

The visit to Haiti winds down with a bus tour and catered picnic in the beautiful countryside. Between trips and over beers, visitors will be educated and inspired by presentations from Allmade and GOEX executives, detailing the environmental and human impact of the garment industry and how you can help “Make It Better.”

There are so many stories behind the shirts we handle every day, and most of them never get told. Join us on this international adventure and hear those stories first-hand, so you can better educate your customers and help create lasting change by generating demand in the market for shirt that’s made better.

There are spots open for only half or the entire trip. For a detailed itinerary, pricing, and a packing list, let us know you’re interested by submitting this form or email contact@allmade.com and we’ll get back to you right away.
