Neck tags on fleece
« on: June 08, 2017, 12:34:39 PM »
For those of you doing relabeling/neck tag prints on fleece, how are you approaching them?
I've got a customer requesting it and i'm thinking heatpressing them is going to ve the best option, it'll just be a lot more time consuming.
So with that said, if you do them with heat transfers, how are you charging for them compared to what you would fora  regular printed neck label?
What kind of transfers and heat press would be best for something like this?

Heat transfers are the way to go. They look clean, and they actually will work, as opposed to screen printed tags which doesn't look very good.

We typically charge $.10-$.15 more for these.

You can use plastisol, or HSA if you know how. Using a hat heat press has proved to be the fastest way for us.

Are you doing the transfers yourself, or subbing them out?
What model of hat press are you doing them on as well?

Got over 1k+ pieces that will have to be relabeled, so i'm hoping for a quick/smooth process

We do them ourselves. It's really easy.

We've used stahls in the past, but now we've been using Geo Knight.

Definitely make your own transfers, easy and you can get extremely creative with them.

We did an order of these recently on 100% poly fleece. We used our poly white ink (One Stroke bravo flex white) and made transfers on cold peal transfers, coated with the fine powder adhesive (Ace screen supply)
We have a Maxx cap press for these and honestly I hate it and regret buying that machine every time I use it... No pressure sensor and No auto open.  If we ever get a big order for these we'll spring for an auto open model.  But for regular t-shirts we just direct print.
We charge 0.50 extra to do transfer tags because it's a PitA!  >:(   ...they do look nicer though  ;D

+1 for cold peel transfers.

They image surprisingly well.  That said, they won't hold up from washes like one on a T, just the physics of printing on something fleecy.

Anyone have a link to the best spot to buy a press from? Completely clueless when it comes to that kind of equipment.

I'm sure your local screen supplier has them.

You can't go wrong with:
Geo Knight
Stahls
Insta

and honestly for a shop your size, you all should get an air powered one. For a little bit more money, it's 100% worth it.
