Finally starting waterbase-discharge tommorow

Ok, this is pretty nerve-racking and exciting for me at the same time. So basically Everyone at work was getting really fed up with the hard hand I was producing with plastisol on dark garments, the max opaque from Union did wonders but still, I always knew there would be a time that we would have to venture into printing water base, and now that time has come.I actually did this kind of out of rage, and just had them order me the dual cure emulsion, new screens, a ready to print discharge white and what not. but now here I am, actually excited to finally start this haha. HOWEVER, the first job I get is a 2 color job (white and silver ) where the WHITE GOES ON TOP OF THE SILVER, I had only one screen with the new dual cure emulsion, so I just guessed the exposure time to a couple minutes and it came out actually perfectly (going to have to mess with times or find my exposure calculator sheet just in case) but what a good guess. I then exposed the silver ink screen with the normal photopolymer emulsion.

So you basically didn't actually have to read any of this to this point...because my question is really only this: Can I print Discharge white on top of plastisol Silver? Its also a silver shimmer, but regardless, thats my question. Its going to not only be my First time printing waterbase ink, but also discharge water base white....and its going to be on top of a silver plastisol...I don't know if this is even possible, but wish me luck I guess, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

p.s i DO NOT have a forced air flasher or conveyer dryer, just a conventional one, Do i just go much slower than normal?.

No, you can't. I'd knock out the silver portion of the design from the white in the art. Print the white discharge, then print the silver shimmer butt registered, OR you can print the silver plastisol over the discharge, but not the other way around.

Also, don't print plastisol on top of 100% white discharge or you will have problems after washing.  You want to use a discharge base or at the most in my experience mix 20/80% white discharge to discharge base.

Search through the waterbase ink forums here.  There is a lot of information for you to absorb

Personally, I would not start a production job without thorough testing of discharge/waterbase inks through your production set up.  This includes multiple wash tests.

thanks for the quick replys! I guess ill just use the screen to run the job with white plastisol and save the discharge white attempt on a job that ONLY has white.
And ill do it the way its meant to be and not mix and match plastisol/waterbase on the same job. I just gotta figure out how slow to run my belts when the time comes.
