A lot of runs have signup on the day of the run, so it's kind of hard to anticipate the number of participants who might want one. As for bike week-type events you'd have to get the attention of the organizer long before the event and sell 'em on your style. All of the "official" Daytona Bike Week and Biketoberfest shirts were printed by a shop in front of the one I worked at part-time for the last 4 years. They were selling the upcoming event shirts 6 months before the event. They're probably hustling the '16 Biketoberfest shirts now. The shop I worked at did all of the Daytona Turkey Run shirts, held at the speedway Thanksgiving weekend and a smaller event in the spring. The guy who did most of the art was a former employee who does freelance now.
Work is the curse of the drinking class . . .

Thanks for the Tip, TP!

When living in Daytona @ 10 years ago, that was the case- and one shop even had me designing NEW ones based on Biker Feedback while BikeWeek was going on!
This is one of them- actually this was used in several layouts- and the printer made a small fortune off it!

I'm assuming this won't offend anyone here....

Only problem I see with that art is, what Biker is going to point that pinky finger holding that bottle of beer out like that  ::) ;D

I did the shirts for Elvis Run for years until the printer informed me that the end client didn't want to pay my art rates any more. (They would come up with these complicated, specific requests for detailed scenes including Elvis and the late firefighter they nicknamed "Elvis" for whom the memorial run is for.) I said OK, I can do art for what they want to pay me, but it won't have the time investment I normally put in... no realistic airbrush-style like I normally do, it won't look the same. He said no, that won't work, they want the same style, just not the same price. Of course, I said no, I can't do that.... knowing how picky and specific they were in the past, I knew I'd end up losing in the end.

So the next year, they went with 99designs. I guess they weren't happy with that because a couple of years later, the printer came back and wanted me to do it again. Unfortunately, it was a rush job at that point and I couldn't fit it in to my schedule, so I provided a list of possible artists who might be available, including yours.

You nailed it, in my opinion. I'd think you'd be getting the repeats. Not too late for this year, that run happens in September, so be prepared to get the call for it again. It's a big event and they sell a lot of shirts. But I agree with you, I do see fewer requests for Bike Week and such shirts this year.

Anyway, thank you for taking care of Ryan and doing such killer work.

Why, THANK YOU, CZ! I need all the work I can get; China and India have stolen most of the small jobs that helped fill the gaps between the decxent jobs!
