CCI T-Charge

Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has ran production with CCI T-Charge DC.  If you have, what are the in screen characteristics?  We run Matsui DC for color and Union DSPP1003 for our white.  We just received our T-Charge starter kit and love the CCI color matching system so far (way more accurate than our other systems). Any input is appreciated.

My first thought on rfu mixing systems is it should speed up the process in the ink department.It skips the step of weighing out base and then adding pigment. An added plus is to offer the rfu as a standard color palette with no color formulating at all. In my experience CCI performs well in screen. I've been told that fixer is part of the formulation of all CCI water base product. One more thought I have is the ability to add in pigment to strengthen color without exceeding specified maximum pigment load, better refer to a tech rep on that.

I had my CCI rep in today, and we briefly discussed the new system. I asked about the inks having room for adding pigment to these RFU inks, and he said there is room for up to 15% addition of pigments to these inks.

I haven't used this in full production yet. But I did some testing with this today, and my thoughts so far are this stuff is great.

Mixed a PMS color, it went very fast and was a very good match. This system  makes things very simmiller to the Union Mixo system. Easy to use and hard to mess up.

Printing went very well, printed 100 or so shirts, taking my time giving time for dry-in and had no dry-in problems.

Wash test still to come.

For anyone using the PC ( CMS ) system, this would be the same as mixing up a gallon of each color in the CMS system and then using it for a ready to use system, so the CMS system may still be the cheapest way to go. But to me a RFU ink is quicker and a lot harder to mess up, if you're off by .10 using a PC this can pull your color off by quite a bit, using a RFU system .10 isn't really a big deal.

Well, we ran a small production run and the results were not great.  We printed a decent sized 5 color back and that looked pretty good, flipped the screens around and printed a left chest with all 5 colors.  Turns out the T-Charge does not play well with our quartz flashes (even though I dropped flash time 50%).  The color completely changed.  We did some tests after and found that smaller graphics cannot take heat very well, changing the color.  So, back to Matsui for us.
