Epson Stylus 1400 help
« on: January 28, 2016, 10:57:36 AM »
I had a Epson Stylus 1400 Printer that is printing out the positives a little light which is causing problems with the burn. Anyone know of settings to make the ink print darker on film?

Set it for premium glossy photo paper. That should help until you go to a rip.

Do a nozzle check through the 1400 driver on a sheet of white paper. It may just need a head cleaning.

Have you printed through your rip before and gotten good films? Or is this a new issue?

I hope that that works, but for me on a different Epson. nozzle issues make white lines, not an overall lighter deposit.
We should probably also ask if this is a sudden change in an otherwise working situation, and what ink and film combo is used as well.
Also what RIP as they override the printer settings, don't they?
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

I've had it happen and found I wasn't printing true black.

What program do you print from? If I print from Signlab through Accurip, it is VERY easy to get what you're describing.

Also, CMYK produces a different result than RGB for me. I usually work in RGB for that reason in photoshop. RGB values are 0, 0, 0....but there are SOOOO many ways to skin a rat in this biz.

I am on my 2nd 1400.  PM me if you can't figure this out and I'll call you on the phone.
