I second not messing with an inspector, they can and will make you day/week/month hell.
Don't know if I've ever seen(not that in any expert) a double wall pipe on a electric dryer. Gas yes, but seems extreme for electric.
TCT, my same thoughts.
A type "b" Double Wall Exhaust Is Usually Required On Gas Burners of 125,000 BTU's and up.
The reason is, up to 20% of ALL (natural/LP) Gas Does Burn when it mixes coming thru the burner, which is
also why an Exhaust system Removes 21% of all heated air(NFPA LAW). The type" B" is a redundant tube that is to
protect the un burnt gas from excapeing into your shop and igniting (Boom!) You can not also have a screw penetrating the type " b" flu,
which is why they twist and lock together, and all duct hangers are to be mounted on the outside with out screws. Since a electric does
not have residual gas, the Law does not apply. Hope this helps.
TCT! Every time I see a Sroque I think of being in your shop. You took a chance on them when most would not!
Now look at them. They are popping up every where. I just stuck a new dryer behind one in Long Beach. You should be getting a commission!
