2008 Oversized Centurian, 12/18, 2 flashes $8K!!!!  I wish I had a spare 8K laying around because that would be a great addition to any shop that had the room to fit that monster in their shop.  Our 8/12 was over 20' in diameter, so this thing is probably close to 30'.  That press lists at close to 250K new, and those things will print forever.  Somebody here should look into this, because this type of deal doesn't come around often.  I'm not sure I've seen anything close.

I got the room but my life is so complicated with other things right now id just dont have the time to deal with it all.  Someone should jump on that for 8k I dont see how it could be much of a risk.

I too saw that and agree.  That press will probably run forever.  Moving it would be a real project I imagine.

Yeah I saw this last year.  I just showed my partner, and if we had the space, we would buy it today.  But the thing is just too big... Probably why he cant get rid of it.

Wow, he STILL hasn't sold that thing.  I remember seeing ads for that from so long ago...

Someone should get it and start doing 12 color all over prints

If I was still printing, I'd look into it.  Would probably cost a fortune (along with a potential nightmare) from purchase and then getting it onto your floor and running correctly however.  If I were to buy this, (I'm not) I'd use it for printing flats and gear-up for die cutting.  Still....the price is very appealing.

It wouldn't be easy to move, it's always been the machine with the most parts on it, but when you consider what that press could do for a shop, for that price, it makes the work/cost to move that monster seem insignificant to me.  I saw the 8/12 come and go and yeah, it wasn't much fun for the guys doing it, but the 3 guys I saw take ours down and move it out did it in about 4 hours, crated and loaded on the trailer.  They've moved a few centurians in their time in the industry but I was still amazed at how they did it.

I don't think moving it would be all that bad save for the core right?  But I'm betting the core is insano big/heavy.  Getting it set back up correctly is another matter.

I'd say the core is probably 3 times as heavy as an RPM, and the print heads are probably 3, maybe 4 times the weight as our press, well, maybe more now that I think about all that makes up the print heads.  Then all the beams and connecting pieces that go in between the core and the heads and you've got the most massive textile machine per station.

Also, there are maybe a handful of techs that know how to work on these. Two or three in Tx, one in Florida, and one or two in California. Even the Techs that AWT use, typically aren't that knowledgeable.

Believe it or not, there used to be quite a few of these doing a lot of work here in the states.  I know there was a huge shop in Baltimore or DC area that had a bunch of Centurians and they did a ton of work with them.  And there were a lot of them here in Texas in the 90's and early 2000's.  I think most techs that have been doing this for a while will have spent a decent amount of time crawling around one.  I know the GSG Equipment Services guys out of Dallas know these machines inside and out.  My experience with ours was they weren't easy to work on but the vast majority of issues we had on our 20 year old machine were fuses, leaking air hoses and proximity switches on the print heads.  Other than that, the things that can go wrong really don't very often.  There are miles of electrical wires and air lines, and that can be intimidating, but I keep thinking about the volume of work that this machine can do in the next 20 years I can't believe nobody has picked this thing up.  If we needed another auto I'd be up there with my wrenches breaking this thing down and hauling it back yesterday.  I still contend that the Centurian is one of the greatest presses ever built and even if it's 7 years old it will probably be printing something long after most presses that are being manufactured this very day.  And the high end work you can do on them is very underrated.  If it has some of the newer features like kip levers for angle changes and air locks then it will have as many or more bells and whistles than most of the machines being used to print shirts these days. 

I remember this press now and literally cannot believe it's still unsold.  There is not a better machine for the money on the entire planet right now.  But it is an intimidating machine in many aspects but I hope nobody here is afraid to make a move due to having to do some hard work to get it where it can start making someone money.

I know a ton of shops in Houston, one in particular, they bought a new M&R press last year after have 7 or 8 centurian/multiprinters, and junked all the others, and bought all new presses, after seeing how easy it was to line up and register on the M&R
