Epson 3000/FastRip 9.0 W/Windows 7 64bit
« on: March 09, 2015, 06:49:43 PM »
I'm trying to get my Epson 3000 with FastRip 9.0 to work on a Windows 7 64bit. I tried and got the printer to work but I cannot get the FastRip's dongle to get recognized. Everything works fine on XP (can print with plain paper but have no control of ink density). I had heard of a download for this problem and was hoping someone here can guide me in the right direction. Thanks

Scott you might have to go to cadlinks website or see if Fresener has anything on his site... I still have an old win98 that seps just about everything I toss on it even though I do all art on a newer computer.

I am running Win 7 Pro 64 bit with an Epson 3000.
I had issues a while back with Fast Rip and Win 7.
Actually I had a few issues with the print in Win XP as well.
So I got on board with the T-Rip software.  No dongle...no issues.
Prints great from any application I may need to use.

Best of luck,
Bill

You might have to go thru the xp mode of win 7 to get to work.

It sounds like this may have been a pc upgrade or operating system upgrade.

Check the Device Manager to see if there is an exclamation mark for something under Other Devices showing the Dongle (when plugged in).  If you find that to be the case, it's a driver issue and might be fixed just by finding the right driver.

Control Panel/Systems/Device Manager

I'll check the suggestions and let you know the results. It really stinks having to transfer each file to corel 4 in xp to print out and I am creating in X6.

just like you updated the computer, it might be time to update the software. See Fresner about getting a version of T-Rip 3 before he stops selling it! You'll thank me later!

From the T-Rip site:

T-RIP is the big brother to Scott Fresener’s original FastRIP. FastRIP was the defacto standard in RIP software for garment printers for many years. It was the first affordable industry specific RIP on the market. In mid-2009 FastRIP was upgraded and became T-RIP. The problem is that FastRIP is now at least five years old and it won’t work on most of the newer computer operating systems including 64-bit computers. And, it does not have drivers for the newer Epson printers like the 1430, 4900, Workforce series and others.

Looks like an uprade to T-Rip may be only $199

and that's essentially an improved version of the Film Maker, so it is one of the best RIPs on the market. Scott did say that he is moving to the new version and that the price will go up!

Hey Frog thanks, I have sent them an email about my system and concerns about the install but from what I've read about the TRip is seems that it will do the job. Its also good to talk to ya'll again, its been a while since I been back on the boards and I have to say I do miss all the information here. Hope all is well with each one of you and Pierre I am still using the lasers you got for me a couple of years ago :) Thanks
