I got a good banker.
« on: February 11, 2015, 06:28:40 PM »
Had one of them "oh Fck" moments at the shop today. We were running a job which we have done before for my bank. They do 2 give a ways a year at HS ball games called Gold Rush. They give away 500 each time one for football and one for basketball. We sent the art in to the committee, they made a few minor changes, we re did it and sent it back for approval. "Perfect" they said. We set up to print and about 130 pieces in, I noticed that Gold Rush was one word, on the front. I stopped the press, checked the back art which we had not printed and sure enough 2 words. Looked at the art we sent for approval, sure enough the same thing, one word on the front and 2 on the back. I called the bank and told him what up. I offered to order the shirts and reprint, even though they approved it. He said, Nah, I noticed that but no one else said anything. Tell you what, from now on, it's our gig and we'll make it one word. Go ahead and change the back to match the front... SWEET

The city of Albuquerque used to be spelled Albuquercque until I misspelled it on a shirt. The mayor said screw it, let's just change the name of the city.

I can't match that story, let alone beat it.

But close to Wichita is the Chikaskia River, I think it's an Indian name. That is the correct spelling and it sounds like it looks: Chick--A$$--KIA.

We have a custy that gives away the shirts below to his buds at Christmas time. Notice anything wrong? One of the gals up front jacked up the spelling and the custy signed off. I didn't catch it, although I grew up 8 miles from the river, and we printed the shirts. Nobody EVER said anything.  The next year when he re-ordered them I pointed out that they were mis-peeled the previous year and did he want to fix it for this year.

NOPE. He liCked them that way, I guess.

So now we just re-print them RONG on Cpurpose and now that I Cknow it, it drives me Ckrazy!
