Somber day today....

One of my work colleagues laid his 24 year old son to rest today. Nick Spehar was one of the Navy Seals who was killed in Afghanistan when their Chimook helicopter was shot down.

The funeral was held at the St. Paul Cathedral and was a fitting tribute to a young man who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country. In addition to family and friends... the mass was attended by Governor Dayton, Senator Klobuchar, a cadre of Navy Seals and military brass.

I have a brother-in-law who is a military medic over in Afghanistan. His most recent request was for us to pray for a quick and safe journey back home to their families for ALL of our men and women fighting for our freedom.

Thank you Nick and everyone else who has given so much to let us have the things we have.
