I've heard it mentioned that you could use transparent ink to darken the shirt leaving a neat affect. Has anyone done that? If so, what ink did you use and through what mesh count? Any tips would be appreciated.

We use Wilflex HD Clear to achieve this effect. See:

These were printed with a 180 mesh. Next Level tri-blends.

You can also use straight Fashion base as well. If you need it to tint a certain color just ad a little ink to tint. We do a lot of transparent whites on all different types of garments. You can also use the bleed properties of the garment itself to make the ink change it apperance.

ANY clear ink will work.
Some clears are "glossier" than others. Those will give you more visual depth than others.
