MR Sportsman
« on: June 05, 2014, 09:39:59 PM »
Got the big kick in the nuts this morning on our 2009 sporty. Looks like the tech or someone at the factory forgot to pull the rubber vent gasket on the gearbox which ended up frying the gearbox and the servo motor. It's going to cost a fat wad of cash and a couple days down when I can't be. If you've got one of these presses check it out, wish someone would have told me too! I think it's stupid I'm paying for others errors

Having the plug in can be an issue but this many years later I doubt it. We can investigate and find out.

no it's not red and I wouldn't buy a different brand. Just sucks things go wrong at the absolute worst moment. Rich maybe not, but if someone would have told me to check under the hood. The big ass orange sticker would have probably made me pull the rubber tab off. crap happens I know. Just stressin a bit.

Thanks M&R for having all the parts, delivering them the next day, and talking me through the install. After some of the stories I've read about other press companies and dealers, I can't ever complain about their service. We we cranking out shirts by 2:30 today.

Did you have to pay for all the parts to fix that? I'm assuming no since you seem to be happy that it all worked out in the end but dang it's really not your fault!

Well they said they would comp 50% which still puts me just shy of 2k after all the shipping. Yeah I still think it sucks.  I just keep thinking it could be worse. Just a shitty Thursday my dad was rushed away to Rochester and diagnosed with Leukemia the same day, made for a tough last 3 days.
