Thanks for the reply, great info!

I thought the integrator somehow measures the UV.  Is the unit I purchased missing a sensor or am I misunderstanding how it measures the UV output?

edit: ok so it looks like the one I bought is missing the photocell, which I assume is essential for actually measuring the lamps output.  Any idea where to buy just the photocell?

That would be correct, the integrator is part of the uv measurement system, the photocell on my olec is in the lamp head. The one you bought isn't missing the photocell necessarily if it was sold as part of a package with an al53 or al83 or something. Looking at an outdated price sheet from douthitt, a photocell will run you about $300. You got a really nice integrator that you likely won't find with a lamp, usually it's the 131, 121 or 111, so you didn't waste $25, though you should consider matching it up to what it was made to work with.

Thanks for the heads up.  I'll hold onto it and keep looking around for a used al53/83, but none are available close to me at the moment.  I went ahead and got some of the 21 step tests to figure out exposure with my diy setup in the short term.

Over the last seven years, Step Wedge man has fought a never ending battle to promote quantifying and perfecting exposure times.
He generally only makes appearances to scold folks into doing what they know they should, but often slack off.

Just bought this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181262544692

Not sure if it is a good deal or not, but it was only $25, and I can fix the power button in less than 5 minutes.  Anyone know if this was a good purchase?

Looks like you'll need the photocells, don't know what specs are required for that.
