How many people use a fuzzy screen*? we just did 500 shirts and used a fuzzy screen and we just cruised through them in 42 min....did not have to stop to get a fuzzy off!!! this keep us moving and profitable...
just thought I would throw it out there...
*fuzzy screen is a screen loaded with transfer tape with spray tac on the underside so it will pickup any lint on the shirt before printing..

I whip the shirts before printing to get most of the lint off. It works well.

we do, we call it a greaser. not all the time though

What does the screen look like after 500 shirts (could you do another 500) ??

Northland...yeah we have done 10k shirts using this..just have to add a little spray tac ( btw I totally hate it ) every 1k shirts...but it works great...

If I understand this right, for example a 4 color job would have 5 screens, one of the screens being the tacky fuzzy screen?

Yep, before the first color is ever printed.
We came across this solution to some especially poorly finished T's provided by Joe Boxer years ago. The loose threads, from their new cheap shirts were a nightmare! (American made though)
Back then, it was just emulsion and spray tack.

Good idea, cuz I sure get plenty of lint in the eyes popping the shirt before loading

I was wondering the same thing. Also do you have to use spray tack for the printed shirts? I am running 20,000 shirts front and back FOL, 4c front 1c back and wasn't using spray tack for the shirts but lint is terrible on these.

The spray-tack is for the screen Stay with the water based roll-on (or however you apply it) to stick the shirts.
I also recommend a mist spray for the screen, and as pointed out in another thread about about this recently, just a light spray.
We're just sticking lint here, not a whole shirt.

yep, thats a old school trick..we called it a lint screen. would run base in the screen. light spray tack on the bottom.Funny thing is that with flipping the shirts as i do today i really dont have a need for it. lint isnt that big of a issue.

I found the standard spray mist for printing is to aggressive and now we use light spray for embroidery use, any embroidery supplier should have it, we use it for tons of different uses since it is such a mild tack with no real mess left behind.

I'm printing 20k white FOL and the lint is terrible, I have to give this a try,

Inkman apparently found his mist spray too aggressive and opted for a different type.
Just make sure to use a light touch. A little goes a long way in this application
