Title: M&R Sportsman air cylinder rebuild
Post by: Croft on October 30, 2013, 02:05:56 PM
Does anyone know if you can rebuild the aircylinders that controls the squeege pressure or flood bar height on a Sportsman , I have 2 that are slowly rising as we print.

I'm assuming its probably an "O" ring problem.

If it's the same 'block' style chopper cylinder we have, I've rebuilt a few heads worth on the Gauntlet, just needed a good cleaning and lubrication.  Be smart to get at least one seal kit just in case before you dive in, it would suck to damage one and be down a head.

Needed snap ring pliers, and got by with a bike cone wrench for getting the clevis off the end of the rod--although you could always grind down an open end and get a little more purchase with a better home-made tool.  You don't want to leave a burr on the end of the rod when you reassemble...
