I will be the first one to say I know NOTHING about our machines for embroidery, I let the ladies do their thing in there and I interfere very little.
I am wondering how tall you guys can embroider on hats? I got a customer that wants something TALL, but the tallest we have done is like 2.3 inches and they are looking for a bit larger.

Most machines that is it. Sometime more, maybe 2.5" but really depends on hat and design and machine.
My swf pushes 2.3 or 2.4 sometimes. Depends really how low you stitch on the hat cleanly.

Our max is 2.25" tall. Most all the bigger stuff is done as flat goods and then sewn into finished goods.
-
2.35 is our standard max.

2-2.25 on SWF is much as we push it there, however I think our new Barudan will do bigger but haven't tried yet.

2.25 is my max

I will agree on all the other suggestions of 2.35" give or take but yesterday I got lucky and was able to sew a 2.5" high logo on hats for a fire department. The logo is what allowed it possible otherwise 99% of any other logo it would never work. Not only did the logo lend itself to being able to do it I also spent a lot of time in Wilcom making sure everything was ideal before even reaching the machine.
Mid profile structured hat as well.

I appreciate all you guys disclosing your size-I mean capability. It makes me feel much better knowing we are not under average size. I will have nothing to be embarrassed about with the customer then..... Wait am I still talking about embroidery!? ;D
