Have a request for a smaller 3x5 ish, car grade magnet and figured we could simply cut down a larger sheet. Has anyone cut this stuff before, and what do you use?
-
we buy it on the roll and cut it down all the time...just use a big straight edge and a Sharp Knife...
-
Awesome, thx. None of my suppliers will cut the stuff smaller than 9x9-12 for some reason.

Anyone know how to get this cut in custom shapes? Have a high school booster club that wants these cut in the shape of a shield and so far have been told "use an exacto"...no thanks!

Mimosa, don't you have a diecutter?
I found out to my chagrin that 30 mil magnet stock, while totally screen printable will dull an auto paper cutters blade in no time flat.

A Google search for "die cut magnets" turned up a bunch like this one. http://www.magnummagnetics.com/die-cut/ (http://www.magnummagnetics.com/die-cut/)
I wouldn't be surprised if your magnet vinyl supplier would have a suggestion as well.

magnetic rolls can be cut on a vinyl plotter...just sayin...we've done it no problem.
-
Do not have a die cutter...i wish :D I was told the 30mil outdoor vinyl will not work with a standard vinyl cutter as it will dull the blades (as mentioned). These magnets are going to be roughly 12"x18" so a die would be pretty pricey from what I looked at. I was told to ask around for someone who has a sampling press, but they seem to be rare or the people that have them want a huge quantity to even consider talking to you (jerks :P).
I'll look into that link though.

Magnetic Attractions in Durham, NC should do it for ya no problem.
