Title: Baby Joe 2000
Post by: Doug S on April 05, 2013, 07:46:01 PM
I wish I would've jumped and bought 1 about a month ago because the price went from $2200 to $3300.  I guess if you snooze you lose. :'(

Maybe you need to blame Pierre's review. :(

Just tell them you know Andy.  $2,200 is probably above what you'll be paying.   ;D

I'll try that.

I have no specifics yet, but have been assured by Lou that TSB members are due to be given a discount.

I would like to see a controller on it like the msp3150 we have(but a timer by tenths of a second not a light integrator).  Also knowing it would be fine without the glass and no issues making a good diazo water base screen and we would pick one up soon.

Hi guys!
I'm one of the guys that did order the Baby Joe 2000 after Pierre's review.  Pierre was even cool enough to let me call him and discuss it in further.  Today is the day that I'm supposed to be receiving the unit.  It's taken a long time to get it to me cause I live in Hawaii and it had to go on a barge and so on.  I'm really excited.  I plan on sharing with you guys how it goes.
Aloha!

this is a really smart unit, if I am ever in need of a new unit, this will be the route I take.

...VERY interested in this thread right now, expo unit is next on the list. Anyone tested this with a diazo-type emulsion? My current unit is a 12-bulb fluorescent tube from the long-defunct SPEC, and I am certain it is time for new bulbs. It would sure be nice to have some quicker burn times.

...for the owner (Lou, is it?), are you exhibiting at any trade shows? I will be at Printwear Charlotte next month.

I'm rather interested in this very topic as well.  IIRC, Pierre didn't get time to do much testing past the SBQ emulsion--I believe the other was a dual cure?

all the test were done with SBQ. Two screens of dual cure were underexposed and the test were unconclusive. I can't see how it would be able to expose SBQ and not be able to expose dual cure or diazo, so somebody should confirm times. . .
