Title: RIP Don Pettry - Godfather of plastisol inks
Post by: Rob Coleman on March 10, 2013, 08:35:19 PM
Don Pettry passed away yesterday.  Don was the inventor of plastisol screen printing inks for apparel back in 1959.  He was working for Flexible Products Company (Wilflex), and this new chemistry of inks was developed for  Russell Mills.

He was a true gentlemen and always had a story to tell.  He gladly shared his knowledge and his kindness with many people.

RIP Don.  You will be missed!

Thanks Rob for that sad news.

I tried to look up more information on him and found sporadic results due to the last name spelling. It's been spelled 3 different ways from what I've seen, all related to articles about him and Wilflex. Even Impressions has it as Petry and another location has it as Petrey.
