Looking for a good scale for mixing discharge/waterbase inks. Prefer it reads .01. Thanks gang.

Ohaus or Sartorius are good brands. For that increment of measurement in gallon size batches expect to pay some $$ though

I just bought this one a month ago -not as cool as TP's but works very well for me.. put the quart container on it -then turn it on, it automatically zero's out...

My guess is at that price it will not measure in .01 gram increments but unless you are using WB/PCs that is not necessary.

Tony is correct, if you want gallons on the scale 0.01 readout is going to cost you.

We use a Sartorious 7500 for most mixes that read to 0.1.  Very good deals to be had on ebay, I believe this one is popular with auto body shops.

I also still have one of these kicking around, an X-Res.  They don't read to 0.0x but they show a 5 or 0 on the display ex. 1.50-1.55-1.60 so while it's not ideal it gets you very close.  Quite affordable and a clever notion on their part.

Let me know what you find, I'd like to purchase a small batch scale that reads to 0.01 myself.  If it integrated with WFX IMS all the better.

Sartorious scales are the #1 choice for auto body shops and paint shops. I used a couple in my last career and they are really nice. Just dont have them near a door or any drafts like AC vents and what not. They are that sensitive.

that is so true tony. I paid 145 bucks for mine at graingers and it works good enough for what we do.

I just got a little guy that measures .1 for 11$ at harbor freight. I am pretty sure I am now on some drug dealer list.  Little clear baggies are for my wife's jewelry making and the scale is for mixing ink. I will probably get raided the next time I get a cold and buy some cold meds because they think I am making meth or something. But for quarts and half quarts with pc system I did just fine. 5-7 drops ended up being .1 so I could guesstimate the .01 well enough.

I got a gram scale from Bed Bath and Beyond (brand OXO) and I just checked, it will take an almost full (don't have one unopened to try) gallon weight (3000+ grams) and I know I didn't pay over $35 for it a few years back.

I'm thinking you're not really needing to handle a gallon when mixing....but could be wrong.
