Title: this seems like a good buy.
Post by: Prosperi-Tees on April 07, 2012, 12:11:13 AM
I only shop here when a good sale is on or I need something in a hurry since I can get stuff next day. I thought this would be a good starter kit to try some special effects. What you guys think?

That seems like a pretty fair price from what I can see. Pretty low investment if you don't like it, or can sell HD prints. You'll need capillary films, and I'm sure that you can get those from them as well.
HD isn't very popular any more. We did a lot of printing with it several years ago. If you do decide to purchase the kit, think of your audience to pitch it to. Like clothing companies, maybe some club athletic teams. It's an up charge for sure and if you can create a little niche for yourself in your area and get it really dialed in to look great, it would be nice to have in the shop.
Rutland actually has some pretty cool bases that you can pigment. You might want to hit them up for some base samples to try out as well and maybe have 2-3 special effects offerings.
Good luck man,
Paul

Thanks Paul, I'm trying to do just that. Differentiate our offerings from competitors that only do plastisol basic prints. I know that is the core of business which is mine as well but I think you have to offer special things to stand out from the crowd.
