This is the second AUTO WAR post. This is all about how your screen holders work. I know it’s such a small part of an auto press. I think it will be nice to see all the options. I hope you guys are liking these posts. They don't take very long to make. If you have a press with another option in screen holders please make a video of you putting a screen in your press. Thanks for everyone that is making the videos.
Feel free to comment on the videos and ask questions.

Hey glad you like them. I remember a few months back you wanted me to do a video of my MHM up close and personal. Sorry it took this long. I am also very interested in seeing the rest of the presses. I know how mine works, I have no idea how others work. I have seen them at the shows and talked to people about them but you never get to see how they really work. I am trying to make this AUTO WARS series about things on the presses you use many times every day. I think that is how you should really judge a press.

so you can't use retensionables though?

so you can't use retensionables though?
You can use any screen that any other press can. They make a adapter that goes on the retentionable screens. There are a lot of MHM guys using Newman’s.

These get added to the Newman's:

Screened Gear, awesome segments! Great idea. I hope to see everyone joining in with clips of their presses!

Very much digging these post.
I have limited exposure to the industry where I am so this helps me get a insight into various gear. Dallas show is like 6 hours and the only thing relatively close (2 hours) is the SGIA (sp) show which isn't as big in this type of gear.
Keep them coming, I'm learning!

Here's my long boring video. I've got time today to do some more vids Screened so whichever topic is next let me know.

very cool! I like the simplicity of getting the screen in. With the MHM you have to line up the back, than push it in, move the front of the screen up, line up the front and then set it in. Definitely much easier on the RPM.

Hey Pierre!
Yes, it's up and running....finally! haha My phone camera is toast (I dropped the phone in a bucket of water last week). When I get a new phone I'll shoot some videos and join in on the fun here!
Here is a crappy videos I shot when i got the press going. Definitely nothing impressive. It was more to test uploading a video to you tube. http://youtu.be/gjTbKBtmK3I (http://youtu.be/gjTbKBtmK3I)

Pierre, We are missing one point on these videos. On the MHM video the screen is set in registration when put in the press. In Alan’s video he still needs to set the screen in place with his registration pallet then lock it down. I do agree with you it does take a little skill to put the screen in the MHM e type.
Alan another point I want to make after reviewing your video. That manual lockdown (the one you never use) I think that’s so you can lock that one down and then you can turn the air supply off. That way if you have a long run you don't have to leave the air on all night when you’re done for the day. On the MHM the holder is spring loaded to hold the screen when the air is turned off. Not a big deal unless your air is turned off or the tank is run dry over night.

Little dry so I added a little intro.. Excuse the clutter...

Nice video Allan... Wanted to point out, the screen holders are cut back to allow for a pin reg system, "and" removal of the screen without removing the squeegee and flood bar ;)

Yeah... Anatol is not about copying folks... So your press won’t do that.... Maybe if you cut off a few inches of your screen holders it could tho... ;)

Ah, I just realized you were replying to Alan and not Donnie. Oh well. That RPM is a pretty nice looking press.

I forgot that the newman pin system has the pins that when in the up position would hit the screen holders. I've got a set of the newman pin arms but I'm missing the spring loaded pin mechanism and the entire FPU assembly.

FYI, these videos are being cherry picked by you know who.....
Shocker I know. But just a little FYI.
-
That is exactly why we do not add anything to the cause. It's really sad that something positive here will be dragged somewhere else and be exploited for self gain.

Exactly.
It's not even sad, it's pathetic.
Frog, can we look at making sections private unless you are logged in? We can certainly make it harder on him to do such a thing.

I wonder how that sort of d!ckbaggery is classified under IP law? Whom does this content belong to once posted on this forum? I feel like, aside from any licensing needed from the MFG, that the content belongs to the poster and then, once on the forum, possibly to the forum. Seems like you would need license from someone to copy-paste this and call it your own.
This just seems like outright theft to me. You see this happen to people like veterinarians, etc. who have comprehensive informational sites built from their knowledge and built mostly out of their own goodwill that get sort of mirrored by opportunists who build generic sites based on search queries.
I know very little about this but I don't see how IP posted on the net is somehow any different than print. My guess is the same rules apply but it's just very difficult to enforce.
Definitely don't want to get on the subject of the aforementioned, kinda makes me nauseous hearing this sort of thing though.
-
Ok guys let's not derail this thread anymore. There are ways to take care of videos being taken and reposted. I don't want these auto war threads private or just for members. I will talk with who I need to on Monday. If you want contact me in a private IM.
-
I know several not getting involved in this thread because they knew this would happen.

I requested that it get pulled off DS for that very reason.
The content was reproduced without permision on various levels.
Now back to the program!

Hey Guys,
I just wanted to make a post and say that we are going to keep making the AUTO WAR posts. The other guys and I feel it is too good to stop. Not posting content on this forum because we are afraid people may steal it for personal gain is not productive for our industry or this forum. We are not posting top secret information, it’s just basic aspects of our presses. We have nothing to hide. There are systems in place to take care of videos that find their way off this site. Now let’s get this thread back into the positive light that it was intended. Thanks to everyone that has participated and everyone that will be posting new videos.
Thank you,
Jon

Agreed... if you modify your behavior you are letting the terrorist win. ;)

Anyone else want to post a video? We are still missing a quite few of the big manufactures here like TAS, M&R, Brown, Lawson, Progressive / Falcon.
