Title: Boat lettering/graphis
Post by: balloonguy on October 03, 2024, 11:13:04 PM
Is there a marine grade vinyl for boats/trailers? I am afraid the oracal stuff I have on hand will not hold up the Florida sun and sea…
Thanks,
Matt

If this is a one off job I'd order from Signs365

I used Oracal matte black vinyl, I am pretty sure 651 and it's held up great on my boat.  3M has vinyl that could possibly work better, but I used what we had on hand at the time and it's worked great on my last couple boats, though in fresh water.

If you want to be really cool though get the domed decals https://domedlettering.com/ (https://domedlettering.com/)

no, but make sure you remove the outer coating / wax before you install. Most major brands are fine. We use 3M and Oracal for wraps, both hold up well. Sun / water isn't the issue, hitting the dock and improper install will be the biggest liability.

Thanks for the replies. It is a friendly neighbor. I will give him the options and let him choose.
Have a great weekend.
