Are you sure it's bad? they have adjustment allen screws on the sides bottom and top, Automationdirect might have one that might match yours

Did you try Aero-inc.com? They might have a replacement

Crazy M&R is that far out on parts.

It is crazy that M&R is that far out... I would think that is a stock item. Shame on me for not being prepared though.
I found this https://www.automationdirect.com/adc/shopping/catalog/pneumatic_components/pneumatic_air_cylinders/nfpa_tie_rod/d264020dt-m (https://www.automationdirect.com/adc/shopping/catalog/pneumatic_components/pneumatic_air_cylinders/nfpa_tie_rod/d264020dt-m)

This is M&R part. https://www.mrprint.com/store/product/2009304/air-cylinders-rod-type-standard-nfpa-3-4-16-unc-rod-thread-double-acting-model-4-bore-2-stroke-both-ends-cushion (https://www.mrprint.com/store/product/2009304/air-cylinders-rod-type-standard-nfpa-3-4-16-unc-rod-thread-double-acting-model-4-bore-2-stroke-both-ends-cushion)

Anyone with the tech knowledge... Are these the same?
Thanks again!

NFPA cylinders are standardized, but:

OEM has what appears to be a mounting plate, with luck you can transfer it over.
OEM has cushions, your linked cylinder does not, and they aren't available in that size from AD unfortunately.

This should fit the bill provided you can transfer the mounting plate, and the inlet/outlet match. (They should, 3/8 NPT is standard)

I really love this place. You guys are AWESOME!
M&R emailed this morning that my order is ready to ship. I am taking the part from them because I know it will work.
Thanks again for all the help.
Have a great weekend!
Matt

Well that makes it easy.

I believe part of the NFPA spec is that they are repairable, so you might look into a kit for the old
cylinder to keep on standby. Two is one and one is none.

BUT!

How did the cylinder get condemned in the first place? We have ROQ/MHM machines, but have never had
a cylinder go bad. We have had plenty of valves go bad though which can look similar.

I found a company in Miami (gulf controls) that will rebuild it. I am sending it this week.
I have no idea how the cylinder went bad. There was no warning. I had an order that 140 shirts printed left chest, back and both sleeves. I did the back and the front Wednesday with bo issues. I came in Thursday to print the sleeves and the cylinder was not working. There was no warning or period of questionable performance. It went from no issue to full stop between prints...

very odd as all of a sudden the lift cylinder on our small diamondback is acting up. completely out of the blue!! i guess its over 10 years old, so we may have gotten our moneys worth out of it, but just very weird timing for sure!

That is weird... I have cycled over 2 million times so I am not upset that part failed. I am just surprised that it was not a slow decline in performance. I have multiple air cylinders on my balloon printers and they give lots of warnings that they are dying. I can get months of use before a total failure. It is nice to have the time to replace.
