It is called the color saver flash...

Basically, it is a Quartz flash unit that goes in between the heads of a Servo drive Horizon 8 or 9 color press.

You slow down the index enough to flash the print as it goes from one head to another.

Definitely an interesting concept, but I have not seen on in production yet...

Same thing they do with UV inks on flatwork rotaries, right?

Seems like it would be some work to get the range of speeds you may need dependent on substrate, but a great idea.

Do you have any links to video of this in action?  Sounds interesting.

Wish I did... I do have other videos tho...  ;D

In the Horizon section I have a 2 color 6 station servo AC machine to check out!!

The owner was expecting 12,000 prints per shift off of this bad boy... Like 2 machines in one  ;)
