Title: low cure puff?
Post by: Croft on September 11, 2020, 10:16:10 AM
Were trying some new things with masks , would like to be able to print colour on black, we use Wilflex epic rio  and top score , has anyone added puff to these ink and cured at the lower temps? does it work ? the Wilflex spec sheet says puff cure temp is 320*.
Any thoughts?

Why not snag one of the Action pallets for masks? You would then be able to print on black and in multi-color!

All puff inks - the blowing agent is a micro-sphere.  It needs specific heat settings/hit certain temps to make it puff.

Depending on your ink, you can get a good loft at lower temps - around 280* - other inks will need to hit closer to 300/320 to get the amount of puff you want.

Play with what you have and wash test.

If you are reading off of the Nu Puff sheet, you do need to hit full cure temp with the Nu Puff base.
