like this but not anything so totally overkill.
Looking to mix white ink with paint mix blade without yet buying a purpose built ink stirrer...
High torque, low speed, electric drills are mostly monsters - anyone have a lead on a smaller unit that can handle 2 minutes 3x a day no problem?

try a mortar mixer:

sometimes I think these would be easier than a dedicated mixer. The mixing blades are cheap and you could easily stock enough of them to not worry about cleaning them after every use.

that's neat. and fairly cheap.

we already have something like this - a basic corded electric drill - but the "variable speed" + max of 1000 RPM is the issue. those triggers are damn hard to modulate to a slow speed with any consistency!

I would go to floor and decor, they usually have a few brands there. The one I linked to mentioned RPM in terms of gear, doesn't look like it's a rheostat switch.

item number 93632 has a speed controller on the trigger so you can lock it in at 100RPM. It's pretty heavy duty, so it's somewhat heavy. We've been using ours for couple of years now. They had to order it special for us. . .

is that the kind with a rotary dial (pretty much a plastic screw) in the middle of the trigger to keep you from squeezing it any further? I remember those! that would work.

What mixing blade are you talking about?? ???

I'm saying it's better than the proprietary ones from M&R:
https://www.mrprint.com/store/product/9021314/fabricated-parts-5-or-6-gal-paddle-high-density-10-35-in-length-6-69-in-width-2-70-in-height (https://www.mrprint.com/store/product/9021314/fabricated-parts-5-or-6-gal-paddle-high-density-10-35-in-length-6-69-in-width-2-70-in-height)
We only own one for our turnabout, at $200 and how often we use the mixer, it's not worth buying a lot more. You can buy a half dozen $10 ones from Home Depot or lowes that go in a drill and slap them in a bucket of press wash to de-ink and move onto mixing something else with a fresh blade.

I got ya. I thought you had found some sort of flat mixing paddle or something for a drill that you can use with plastisol. I used to use big 3" wide hole boring bits, grind the point down so you have it flat, sand it smooth, but they don't work as well as mixing by hand, and only good in a quart.

We use these for gallon mixing:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Allway-10-5-in-Steel-Spiral-Mixing-Arms/50427876 (https://www.lowes.com/pd/Allway-10-5-in-Steel-Spiral-Mixing-Arms/50427876)
The trick is cut of 3 of the wings and sand it a little smooth just so the ink can't settle in. They work great in a gallon bucket, ink or emulsion...but we keep a dedicated emulsion one.

ive used these for gallons and 5g

I use a long allen wrench to stir our inks with sense the ink only really needs to broken up anyway, very easy to clean.
