Title: HELP need MHM technician to fix S Type
Post by: ageber on July 13, 2017, 02:06:37 PM
I have a S type that went down and I cant trouble shoot it. While I have help from a tech from Hirsch, they have no one available to send me anytime soon. That means i am essentially shut down for 50% of my shop. If anyone knows of someone who is available today, tomorrow or the weekend i would appreciate a name and number. it is a sensor issue we believe but i don't have someone in my shop that can deal with it and i have spend hours attempting to

thanks

can you give us some more info on what is going on?
There are few MHM users here and somebody might have some suggestions for you.

THERE IS A PROXIMITY SWITCH ERROR. it happened last night. it won't go away. talked to rodney. the sensor is fine and lights up when the bar passes it. it rises slightly higher than the sensor but nothing was loose. the sensor cannot be raised anymore than what it is. we measured the transport bar and the proximity fixing pin bar and they are the same height in the up position.

after fooling around with the sensor, the proximity fixing pin will not go down. when the error is cleared the transport arm swings over and we get an error, nothing else happens

What does the actual touchscreen say, which error?

There is proxies for the transport arm and the fixing/index pins. Not to mention
all the print arms etc.

You can also have your proximity sensor too high. Needs to be set so that the fixing
pin extends 1mm from bottom of transport/index plate. Let me know if you don't
have the manual and I'll post them.

just so I understand this correctly, the LED on the sensor is lighting up, correct?
There should be a board that controls that same sensor and it most likely has an LED that lights up when the one on the sensor lights up. Can you confirm both lights are coming on? That would eliminate the sensor issue so raising or lowering it becomes irrelevant.
