Title: Puff Embroidery
Post by: Ross_S on May 25, 2017, 11:42:16 AM
I recently obtained a single head tajima.  We have been running the hell out of it and hopefully I'll be upgrading soon.  In the mean time I'm looking for some info. on how to do PUFF.  Is there an article somewhere or does anyone have some insight (I have no experience)?

1) Good 3D digitizing... something we still struggle to find.
2) Looser upper tensions.
3) Slow down the machine. Start around 500 and creep up slowly if things are running well.

I am digitizing one right now. There are some good YouTube videos and I think
there's one by Wilcom. Just remember that some designs and some lettering styles
just won't work. When you get into it, you will know.

GOOD digitizer...round needle (bigger hole).

Make sure he does a color change then put a stop in so you can lay down your puff. Then start in the middle and do tack downs over the whole design. Then start cutting it out.

Too many times I've gotten a tape back with the damn puff starting to sew over in one corner without starting in the middle then doing the tack down stitches across the design. Puff moves all over the hat.
