I have an issue with a psd seps file _I ask for your help with one file I made the seps , all the layers can be printed , the problem is just with the black layer, I already named it differently (BLACK,K, 05 - black) and they cant print it (I'm in other country so I cant tell if its a setting problem of the printer). Do you know what happened? thanks in advance!!

Layers or Channels?
If Channels, be sure it is a spot color channel...not an alpha channel.
Best of luck

thanks Squeegie

also I need to add that I'm working with an eps file in an AI file,
-
Using Accurip? If so, then I also experience this issue from time to time. I have not yet been able determine what causes it. Usually I can get around it by saving a copy of the PS file and then removing all but the offending channel from the file.

Image Type= CMYK or multi-channel.
Close and reopen Photoshop

Not sure if this will help but every now and then we will get a file in Corel that will not print the seps correctly for some reason. We just export the file as a .pdf and print the seps from there and it fixes the problem. Don't know why or how but it works. Just FYI

thanks for your quick answers
since I'm not in the same country where they will print it I will send them all your answers
other thought that I'm having if this doesn't work is to re do it from scratch! :/

I've noticed that with black inside of photoshop, sometimes I've had to click on the color square (when you double-click on the channel) and click on the color libraries button, then hit OK it defines a specific black spot color ie process black c for it to show up as a spot color in AI.
Don't know if that makes sense, I can take screen shots if that makes more sense.

I have had issues with black not printing at all from an eps file - that was saved from photoshop as a dcs 2.0 eps, placed in illustrator and sent to our iImage CTS.
The Black needed to be named different. So I called it Blackm - the m is near the k key.... sue me.
Re-saved and placed th eimage.
Printed just fine.
Lots of rips/Illy doesnt like colors that use the same names as Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black near as I can tell.
Hope my rambles help
