Title: Laser Alignment System
Post by: mt_signex on January 28, 2017, 07:41:10 PM
I've read a lot of the old threads and am looking at getting one of the alignment systems, does anyone know if binkspot is still active or selling these?

Thanks!

Still alive, not making them anymore but will service existing units. Didn't have my email linked to the pm so didn't see the messages.

If you don't want to make them anymore and are willing to pass on the how to make them.. pm me and I'll carry on the torch. About the best lasers I ever used and would gladly carry on with them.

Me as well.  I was talking with my neighbor at work, and I was in the process of trying to develop a alignment system.  We would definitely be interested in making some along with jsheridan.

Hey everyone, I have to apologize- we only have one of these units and my crew wants to keep it for our old auto press.  My bad.

Get on ebay and buy you two of these. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CE-635nm-10mw-Red-cross-line-diode-laser-Generator-Module-Power-adapter-Mount-/172114665926?hash=item2812d561c6:g:3dgAAOSwKtVWz9xf (http://www.ebay.com/itm/CE-635nm-10mw-Red-cross-line-diode-laser-Generator-Module-Power-adapter-Mount-/172114665926?hash=item2812d561c6:g:3dgAAOSwKtVWz9xf)
Take some 1/2 square tubing and make you like a microphone stand with a flat plate on the end aprox. 4" square. Bolt the stand to the ceiling above your load station, attach your lasers to the flat plate and get ac power to them and there you go. you have laser alignment system. Under $100

That`s a great find.
I might just buy 2 of them screw them on a wooden box suspended from the ceiling and Bob`s my uncle.

Look at this German made laser light system.    www.z-laser.com (http://www.z-laser.com)
This is a very strong, professional system and they last forever.
For textile you need the Z series, they have all the options, clamps etc.

Obviously I`m very biased when it comes to German products but in this case I`ll try the Chinese lasers first. Less then half the price. At least for the prototype:)

I ended up building one that is probably similar to the units based on the photos I had seen and it's working great.  A few changes will have to be made but it'll do for now!

What are these blue flexible "arms", that hold the lasers, called? Trying to find something like that online but have no clue what to search for.

They are called "loc line", specifically 1/4 loc line.  The fittings for brand name loc line and the cheaper version do not work together, so it does slightly matter which one you get.
