Ok yeah I'm still old school and printing film, what is the best after market ink or what inks have you all found works great in the epson 1430 with accurip besides buying the epson carts. I'm looking at Ryonet blackmax system, I bought some elcheapo carts and they print like chit, it was printing very nice black film while I was using the epson carts but they were running out to fast.

I've always used cobra ink refillables and their dye based ink.
-
filmdirectonline.com. I use their refillable carts with their black ink. Works pretty well and is way cheaper then buying new cartridges.
-
We have been using BlackMax from Ryonet (with refillable's) for a few years and there is zero bleed and great opacity.
-
I use a Cobra Ink CIS system for one printer (1100) I have a spare 1400 that is ready to take some Cobra Ink Carts as well. I also have a spare 1100 just in case. :)

If you get a chip resetter once the light comes on you can re-set the cartridge and usually get 3-5 more positives depending on the coverage. you can find one on ebay for under 10 bucks.
-
Another vote for the Cobra CIS. With settings at "black and white," "best picture," and "ultra glassy," our film works great. We print halftones on the regular, but rarely any kind of multicolor dot blend, FWIW.
I have gone through them at a rate of one every 18 months or so, but they come with a bunch of ink anyway, so buying a whole new kit and replacing the old/dead one isn't really that expensive.

1 Litre costs under $30, lasts months.
Refill on these cartridges

I've been running the Cobra Ink refillable carts in mine for a few years and have had great films. Dye ink.

another vote here for ryonet max black. not cheap, but properly opaque.
(but better still is finding a cheap epson 4800 4880 printer. $60 17" roll film (nazdar). ref-fillable cartridges - running head cleaning solution in every one that isn't printing accuink dye black. run a RIP, have it calibrated.
takes a little searching, a little cleaning, a little sources of bits, but once going it's 1000x the machine the 1400/1430s are and 4 times as cheap to run, and not loading film anymore is a time saver.)
